Sev Khamani Recipe – गुजराती सेव खमनी

Sav Khamani सेव खमनी is a classic Gujarati dishes, it mainly had in breakfast and also as a snacks. Sev Khamani is a fusion of Khaman, sev and pomegranates. This recipe taste so yummy as it spicy due to khamani and sweet due to the pomegranates seeds. Its is also Known as “Surti Sev Khamani” or “Gujarati Sev Khamani” as its is originated from Surat. You can find it all over Gujarat in morning and evening hours.

Here is how to prepare Sev Kamani recipe at home –

Ingredients

  • 1 Full plate Khaman/Dhokla
  • 1 cup Pomegranate seeds
  • 1 cup sev
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
  • 4-5 Green chillies
  • 4-5 stems Curry leaves
  • 2 tsp Groundnuts
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp Asafoetida
  • 2 tbs oil

Method:

Khamani Preparation

Firstly take a plate full of khaman.

Then apply oil to the grating plate, so that the khaman do not stick to the grading plate.

Grate all the khaman.

After grating, this is called as khamani.

Tadka Preparation

Heat 2 tbs oil in a pan

Add 3 Dry red chillies and 3 Bay leaves.

Now add 1 tbsp Mustard seeds, then 1 tbsp cumin seeds and 1/2 tbsp hing.

Then add Grounds nuts, curry leaves and green chillies.

Now add this tadka to the Khamani.

Later on add pomegranates seeds, Sev and Coriander leaves.

Now the Sev Khamani is ready to eat.
